On this day in 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the newly created United States Constitution that replaced the weak and ineffective Articles of Confederation as our federal government’s bedrock.
The day is marked for remembrance as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day, kicking off a week of education and celebration of the genius of the US Constitution and blessings of citizenship.
Happy Constitution & Citizenship Day!
Get your own copy of the Constitution
Minnesota Majority has distributed over 10,000 copies of our unique-to-Minnesota Pocket Constitution booklets since 2009. The book contains images of and the full text of the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, as well as the Constitution of the State of Minnesota. It also contains words from the founders that help explain the mind-set in the late 18th Century and the meaning behind the Constitution as written.
We’ll put a free copy of the Minnesota Pocket Constitution in the mail to anyone who donates $10 or more to Minnesota Majority this week. Click here to donate and request your Pocket Constitution.
