Congress Prepares to Go Nuclear on Health Care
On Wednesday, President Obama held a press conference in which he arrogantly declared that the time for debate is over on health care 'reform'. The president surrounded himself with people in white lab coats in an attempt to legitimize his message. But in reality, it was difficult to keep track of the number of false and misleading statements the president made over the course of his speech.
One fact was made crystal clear: Democrats plan to go it alone without Republican support. Now that they no longer have a 60-vote majority in the Senate, they plan to change the rules of the game and employ a parliamentary trick known as "reconciliation" or the “nuclear option.” Usually reserved for budget bills, the maneuver would allow the Senate to pass this massive bill with only 51 votes instead of the normal 60-vote super-majority required for all major legislation. This trick would require the House to pass and amend the Senate version of the health care bill, with an understanding in the senate that the House can get what it wants in the conference committee. After the conference committee, the newly re-minted bill would be submitted back to the House and Senate for a final vote. Passage would require a simple majority in each body.
President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Senator Schumer, Senator Reid, Senator Feinstein, and other Democrats claimed bypassing the 60-vote filibuster rule in the Senate would tear down the fabric of the republic and change the Senate forever. They said the suggestion by Republicans in 2005 to change the rules to stop Democrat filibustering of presidential nominees was a naked, arrogant power grab and un-American. Now that they can’t get their way playing by the rules, the “nuclear option” is seen as their noble duty. See here for a video compilation of Democrats protesting the “nuclear option” in 2005.
Every major poll shows that the American people oppose ObamaCare and want Congress to start from scratch. But President Obama and his colleagues in Congress don't appear to be getting the message.

What democrats aren't willing or able to grasp, is there are many people of illnesses, chronic, injury, etc., that want the costs reasonable and the government OUT. "REFORM." That's what the people were led to believe. The suggestion of need for health care reform is a distorted truth that misled the people that voted for it.
How can anything be trusted with these ignorant fools? They acknowledge our concerns as if we're asking too much! Yet, they still work for us, indignantly, provoking anger and fear. They are too WEAK to stand by the constitution, so they change the rules to dictate, not abide by.
Crisis or not, the government can determine and create at anytime. This government isn't going to be cost efficient or quality conscious, it's not their money or their health or their insurance. It's ours, and they're taking it from us. Our inalienable right to be in control of ourselves and our own. |

If citizens were actually taking the responsibility to teach the Constitution and its history to their children, then grade school students would be able to stop Obamacare dead in its tracks by pointing out the following. Given the Constitution is silent about healthcare, the 10th Amendment automatically reserves government power to regulate healthcare to the states, not the Oval Office and Congress.
In fact, Chief Justice Marshall had established the following case precedent, now wrongly ignored, which appropriately prohibits Congress from laying taxes based on state power issues.

So not only is Obamacare constitutionally unauthorized, but corrupt Congress never had the power to lay taxes to finance Obamacare in the first place.
What a mess! :^(
The bottom line is that voters have a big mess to clean up in DC in this year's midterm elections. |

| The Obama Administration is so anti-american it's unbelievable the people voted them into office. I will be doing all I can to vote them out. They have forgotten that they work for US... WE THE PEOPLE!!! My family will be attending the KILL THE BILL RALLY at the Minnesota State Capital, Saturtay, March 13th, noon to 1 pm. They WILL know who runs this country by the time we are done with them! |

| Quit being roadblocks to something that the country needs-- health care reform. Propose the republican plan and work with the democrates to get reform passed-- don't be just negative--work for the people that elect you !! |

Andy, once government pays your bills, YOUR medical decisions/decisions are up to the government. Government will dictate your medical needs, physical mandates, for government's set-price and employment. And as government has become as untrustworthy as they exist, this is definitely, a very dangerous reform to even consider, implement. They will be in the privacy of your physical being. With mandates and penalties if you don't follow "government, doctors orders.."

| The Republican plan...The Patient's Choice Act weighing in at 200+ pages was the first reform bill received by the senate clerk and Reid, last spring. The Democrats just denied its existence for 9 months! ie They lied!! |
